SELECTION OF LIGHT EQUIPMENT

It is very important to select and use the right lighting equipment for the environment it will be used in (Fit For Use), some key points need to be understood before making a selection, these will typically include;

• Is it for an Indoor or outdoor environment?
• If outdoor what level of IP protection is required?
• What activities will be taking place in this area?
• Are the required light levels understood?
• Is colour recognition important?
• Will the activities be taking place only during a certain number of hours or 24hrs a day?
• Is emergency back-up lighting required?
